22nd August 2003 Windsurfing: Brogborough Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 4 Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: 20 Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: The wind was still looking the same as yesterday from the car park at work and the car was still loaded up so braved the Friday night traffic on the M1. Put all my local knowledge to good use and took all the back roads and got to brog for 3pm. Wind wasn't looking as good as thurrday so rigged 8.5 sail and large board. Was geting some good runs in but sail didn't feel right for some reason just couldn't put my finger on it I realised when trying to water start that the mast wasn't togther properly so had about 4cm xtra downhaul. Come in and rerigged sail went back out things felt alot better. The wind was really starting to pick up now and was getting a real handful on 8.5 and my feet were aching like hell keeping the board from going off on a crazy overpowered run down wind. Decided to called it a night before my feet and ankles gave up the ghost. |
